Snickers Cake

SNICKERS CAKE

1 chocolate cake mix
1 14 ounce package caramels
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix cake according to directions. Pour half of batter into a greased 9X13 inch pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Melt caramels, milk and butter. Pour over baked cake batter. Bake at 250 for 20 minutes. Increase oven to 300 and bake an additional 10 minutes. When cool, top with the frosting of your choice.

This is the frosting I made:

Melt 6 tablespoons butter. Add 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1/3 cup buttermilk. Once it is about to boil, add 3 cups powdered sugar and stir until it dissolves. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Best if poured over warm cake.

The picture may not be pretty, but that's because it's ooey, gooey yummy!
