Peppermint Squares

PEPPERMINT SQUARES

1/2 cup butter
5 tablespoons cocoa
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
Melt all but egg in double boiler and add egg. Cook 2 minutes.
Crush 2 cups graham crackers and add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
Add to first mixture.
Press into a 9 X 13 pan.

Filling:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons peppermint flavoring & green food coloring
Mix and spread on top of first mixture.

Topping:
4 squares semi-sweet chocolate melted with 1 tablespoon butter
OR
2 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons butter

Spread on top and cool in fridge. (DO NOT FREEZE) Cut into squares.
